Weekend Events

Here is a list of all the events that will take place at the Pacific Crest Weekend Sports Festival plus a little about what the event is.

Tour de Crest:bike race

In 2012, AA Sports introduced the Tour de Crest event to the Pacific Crest Weekend Sports Festival. Pacific Crest brings many families to beautiful Sunriver & Central Oregon and our goal with the two bike rides was to offer the opportunity for the non-triathletes in the family to ride on parts (Long Course Triathlon) or all (Olympic Triathlon) of the roads the triathletes themselves will compete on during the following days. These rides are also a chance for the whole family to participate together in the same event.

The roads used are very well-maintained with very little traffic. The routes chosen are also moderate in that they do not include any ultra-steep grades, and the scenery is fantastic. Make the Tour de Crest events part of your family getaway and enhance your enjoyment of the Pacific Crest Weekend Sports Festival.

Long Course Tri- & Duathlon:

Each year, during the last full weekend in June, multisport athletes from across the country converge on Central Oregon to take part in the Long Course Triathlon during Pacific Crest Weekend Sports Festival. 2015 marks the 19th anniversary for this event, which has come a long way since it’s inception. As the jewel of long course triathlons here in the Northwest, the PCT has become a destination race for athletes from across the nation.

Triathletes who have competed around the country say that the Pacific Crest Triathlon is one if the most scenic courses they have raced. Coupled with a finish in an exquisite five star destination resort, it is the perfect family vacation destination. You don’t have to take our word for it — join us for this spectacular event and see for yourself.

Half-Marathon & Marathon:

Marathon (26.2-miles) & Half-Marathon (13.1-miles): These runs circle Sunriver Resort on wide, paved, very scenic bike paths. Marathoners will receive their Half-Marathon split when traveling through the Athlete Village before heading out on the second loop of this beautiful scenic course that will take you through meadows and forests, past rivers, and beautifully landscaped golf greens and summer homes.

Olympic Tri & Du:Pac Crest Tri Swim

The Olympic Distance Triathlon and Duathlon are part of the Pacific Crest weekend of Multi-sport events, which over the last nine years has become known as the jewel of athletic events in the Northwest, and has become a destination race for athletes from across the nation. Additionally, this is the first Olympic distance triathlon to ever take place in Central Oregon.

5K & 10K Run / Walk:

The 5K & 10K Run/Walks were added in 2003 to provide an opportunity for everyone in the family to have an event to participate in during the Pacific Crest Weekend.

Kids’ Events:Pac Crest Kids

Our traditional Splash Pedal-n-Dash is staged at the SHARC Rec/Pool Center, within walking distance from the Athletes Village. Kids start the Splash at the SHARC Amphitheater by sliding down a 12′ slide (optional), then running through three wading pools. They are then directed to the parking lot to get their bikes. Older racers, ages 9 to 12, exit the parking lot on the north and circle the SHARC, then follow the bike path to the back side of the Community Church parking lot. Younger racers, ages 4 to 8, exit the parking lot on the south and ride on the bike path to the back side of the church. Kids enter the transition and are directed out on the run path along Abbot Drive, toward the finish at the Official Finish Line in Athletes Village. You are able to get to and from the SHARC along the Beaver Drive path and parents can meet up with their children at the Finish Line.

Hi Sonya, I used chalk paint, not chalkboard paint. They are different and have different finishes.
